The highest quality Ballet school you can find, right here in the Hudson Valley.  We are so priviledged to have Peter and Lisa Naumann teaching our children the artistry and compostion of Ballet.  Their dedication to the dancers they teach is apparent at every level.  They instill confidence and discipline that each one of their students will carry with them forever.  The opportunities that New Paltz School of Ballet constantly provides are endless.  Dancing in productions with  major Ballet Stars from NYC Ballet and Ballet West, to Master Classes with a legendary Ballerina and an up and coming Mondern Dancer.  As Artisitc Directors of the New Paltz Ballet Theatre, the production of The Nutcracker that is produced every year is outstanding.

We are about to entoll our fifth dancer in New Paltz School of Ballet, who is also our second boy. Although NPSB is definitely where you would want your dancer if he or she has dreams of dancing professionally, it's a wonderful experience for any young person and excellent preparation for sports, public speaking and fitness. Lisa and Peter have very high standards - which is what drew our family - but they cater to anyone interested in ballet. Plus they run a stunning and super professional Nutcracker and end of year performance.

I grew up dancing ballet instructed by a NYC ballet dancer, who instilled discipline and persistence yet who cared about his dancers who were like his children. It was important to me to find the same values for my daughter when I was looking for a ballet school. I have found that same NYC ballet style instruction at this gem of NPSB. My 4 year old daughter loves going to her class each week, making friends, and loved performing in her recital. She also loved the opportunity to watch her class helpers in the Nutcracker and can't wait to be a part of it one day.

Our daughter is going into her 8th year attending NPSB. Wonderful, caring instructors, along with the friendships our daughter has made there are priceless. They are pro-active in preventing injury and making sure each dancer's body has developed properly before advancing them to the next level of dance.

When we moved to the Hudson Valley from New York City 6 years ago, I was concerned that it would be difficult to find a quality ballet school for my daughter.  The New Paltz School of Ballet immediately put those fears to rest.  Lisa and Peter Naumann are not only excellent ballet instructors, they are  also nurturing individuals who have created a warm and caring atmosphere in conjunction with the discipline necessary to succeed both in dance and in life.  Add to that high quality performances, master classes with NYCB principals, and a talented team of volunteers that keep New Paltz Ballet Theatre running smoothly year after year, and you have a recipe for a jewel of a ballet school!

We feel so incredibly blessed to have our daughter take classes at New Paltz School of Ballet.  Our daughter loves it and she is getting the best ballet and jazz dance training. She can't wait to go to dance class and loves to arrive early to see all of her friends. It's such a happy place where the students and teachers all respect each other and encourage each other. As a mom, I really love being involved and helping during the recitals and enjoy being part of a great community of parents.

The experience my children have had at the New Paltz School of Ballet has exceeded all of the hopes and expectations I had for dance lessons. Lisa Chalmers-Naumann and Peter Naumann are caring, nurturing instructors. They have helped my kids develop a deeper love and appreciation for all of the arts.

The highest quality ballet school with artistic directors who go above and beyond for their dancers. Our daughter is beyond lucky to receive direct ballet instruction from world class dancers who danced with NYC ballet under the great George Balanchine. They devote their lives to training young dancers to be the very best and many have become professional dancers with notable companies. There is no ballet school that comes close.

The New Paltz School of Ballet is an amazing gem of dance schools. My daughter has been dancing there for the past 6 years. It offers the highest level of instruction available in the Mid Hudson Valley. We have made great friends with the families of the other dancers and the dancers are really supportive and respectful to one another. Having a ballet school with an impeccable Balanchine methodology is also amazing for dancers who want to shoot for a future in dance. Here is where fun and success go hand in hand.

The New Paltz School of Ballet offers high quality dance at an affordable price. My oldest daughter has been dancing at the school for the past 9 years and my youngest daughter the last 5. The skills that my girls have learned go far beyond good dance technique. The climate and culture that Ms. Lisa and Mr. Peter have cultivated is one of respect, passion, ethics, community and mentorship. My daughter saw The Nutcracker when she was 2 and wanted to take ballet immediately. She has been taking dance here since she was three. Dance is her life! "Miss Lisa" and "Mr. Peter" have guided her and nurtured her love of dance.  When you see a performance put on by dancers of this school, you know you will be in for a treat. Not only professional, but high quality, vibrant and breathtaking. I recommend New Paltz School of Ballet as the best place to learn ballet in the Hudson Valley.

Without a doubt, the highest quality ballet instruction in the Hudson Valley.  The principal teachers both danced professionally with the New York City Ballet and their experience is evident.  They also frequently have guest instructors from NYC Ballet who teach master classes and their Nutcracker performances feature current NYC Ballet dancers.  My children have been taking dance here for over 15 years.
