THE THOREAU CENTER IS A CHARMING AND UNIQUE COMMUNITY EVENT SPACE.
Located in Des Moines’ historic Drake Neighborhood at 3500 Kingman Boulevard, you may rent the first floor of the Thoreau Center for your important events and celebrations, including:
Office Meetings and Retreats
Graduation Receptions
Anniversaries
Birthday Parties
Retirement Events
Weddings and Rehearsal Dinners
Celebrations of Life
Educational Meetings
Fundraising Events
Musical Events
Customer Appreciation Meetings
To rent the first floor of the Thoreau Center for your event, contact the Thoreau Center at 515-279-7312 or [email protected]. A short Rental Agreement, one-half of the rental fee and a cleaning/damage deposit is required to reserve your event more than 90 days in advance. The other half of the rental fee is due 30 days prior to the event. If you want to reserve a date that is less than 90 days away, then the entire rental fee and cleaning/damage deposit is required to reserve the date. The rental fee will be refunded to you if the event is cancelled at least thirty days before the event.
