Founded by James Avery in the 1920s, Avery’s Original began his business buying and ferrying used vehicles from Florida back to his home state of New Jersey. He had discovered the premium valuation of vehicles having never been subjected to the salted winter roads of the north and for the trouble of a few hundred miles travel, the difference in sell prices made the effort worthwhile.

Arthur was born to James in 1922 and by the age of twelve, had earned his own dealer’s license. While running a newspaper route he realized that he had firsthand knowledge of newly advertised used vehicles EVERYDAY! He turned this knowledge into buying and reselling on-time. You could say entrepreneurship is in the Avery blood.

This man is a swindler. Sold my dad a green truck with title but the title wasn't proper. Told him he would trade it out for the silver truck.  He had my dad go ahead and register it and tag the silver truck. but then come to find out the silver truck had motor problems.  So he said keep the green one we will fix this silver one and do the trade.  So we all gathered up a motor to put in it. Dad and I worked on the silver truck on Arts property to try and get it up and running to get it and go. Once new engine was set in the silver one and ready for hook up the slimy bastard after several days of busting ass on the truck tried telling us he now wasn't doing the trade. That he wanted another $2500 for the silver truck (we paid $2,500 for the green, plus registered,  tagged and insured the silver one, put a windshield and new exhaust parts in to the silver totaling over $1000 plus man hours) Even though the truck is titled and tagged in my dad's name he won't let it go .... that he wasn't going to fix what he fucked up on with the green truck. He dared that he wanted 2,500 for the silver truck we had been working on for several days and the green one back.

Just so people know in lakeland stay away from a man named Art who runs a place called Avery's off of swindell rd. In lakeland by Kathleen high.  He sold my father in law a truck for 2,500 . A truck that had a title but come to find out the title had not been signed over to him. We found this out when we went to register it with the online title. The man then was like well crap I can't fix that here bring that truck back I'll give you this one.  We'll that second truck had some issues.  He told my father inlaw he would fix it .  He gave him the title and had him register it and tag it and it's insured.  But then he didn't work on it fast enough so we offered to help him get it done faster. My father in law put 700 into a custom piece that went to the exhaust that had to be fabricated. He also bought and put a new windshield in it. Then art renigged on the deal.  After fighting to either get the 2,500 for the green truck and the 1,000 back or for him to get the green truck  title signed over or the silver truck. The man finally after a shit ton of fighting said get the engine in it and I'll take the green one back. So we sat here for several damn days working to get that engine  get it in just got to  go in Monday to finish mounting it and hooking it all up.  Between 8pm last night and 11 am this morning that dick decides that he wants 2,500 to give the truck over, he will mot fix the green truck title or anything else. Josh is on a war path. This man is a swindler. Do not buy from him. Cops are informed and things are being looked into.After talking to the cops we found out he didn't have a dealers license and was opperating illegally.
