About Us
Sonia Le is the immensely talented brainchild behind Cosmo Chic who also offers sewing classes for all skill levels. Born in Zimbabwe, her family fled Zimbabwe, which at the time was in the midst of a war and decided to settle on a farm in South Africa. From a very young age itself, Sonia knew that fashion design was her calling.
However, life in South Africa was not as easy as it may have seemed and money was stringent. This, however, did not dampen her spirits and love for designing as she would often find herself sewing clothes for her Barbie Dolls from the fabrics that were left over after her mother used them for sewing clothes for the family. With a constant passion for fashion designing helping her thrive, she found further inspiration in shows like Top Billing and the Oscars and this cemented her love for design even more.
With dreams in her eyes and an incredible amount of passion for fuel, she decided to take a leap of faith and headed to the US to bring her dreams to life at the tender age of just 21 years. She spent one week in NY, following which, she moved to California. With A BSc in Fashion Design from the Art Institute on the way, she is already working on her new collection whilst constantly learning from her degree studies. Her design style is one that accommodates all kinds and personalities of women, ensuring that they look and feel beautiful about themselves.
With her range of sewing classes also about to be launched, Sonia Le is not just an extremely talented fashion designer but also a force to be reckoned with.
