A Little About JOHN A. HALPERN
John A. Halpern is principal of the Minneapolis-based Halpern Law Firm, PLLC, which practices in the areas of creditors' remedies litigation, post-judgment collection procedures, business liquidation receiverships, and representing the interests of creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. He received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Halpern has served as President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Vice President for the FBA=s Eighth Circuit, Chairman of the Debtor-Creditor Remedies Committee of the Hennepin County Bar Association, Secretary of the Bankruptcy Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association, and on the Board of Directors of The Fund for the Legal Aid Society. Currently, he is a member of the Creditors' Rights Section and the Complex Commercial Litigation Committee of the Commercial Law League of America and of The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.
He has also served in Washington, D.C., as Legislative Assistant to the late Minnesota
Congressman Odin Langen, Staff Member of the United States House of Representatives
Committee on Appropriations, and attorney in the Office of the General Counsel, Federal Aviation Administration, United States Department of Transportation.An AV (Preeminent)-rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, Mr. Halpern has also been named a "Minnesota SuperLawyer7"
by Minnesota SuperLawyers magazine for the past two decades. He was recently reappointed to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Community Advisory Board and has completed the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy.
Mr. Halpern is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars and business information programs on collection issues, creditors= remedies, litigation strategies, and business liquidation receiverships.
