Tomlinson Masonry Co. specializes in custom brickwork, stone and concrete. We have been in business serving the Los Angeles community since 1983. Tomlinson Masonry is bonded and insured, Contractor License # 416832.

Ray Tomlinson started his masonry journey in September 1966, when he enrolled at the College of Technology in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England, with the intent of becoming a finishing carpenter. On his third day there, he was instructed to build a brick wall 4-feet long and 3-feet high! It was like a duck to water; he instantly felt the gratification of building something brick-by-brick changing the direction of his career.

Ray went on to complete a three-year apprenticeship and obtained the City & Guilds of London Craft Certificate. From there, he moved to London and worked in bricklaying for the next seven years. Then venturing way west to Los Angeles, Ray worked as a union bricklayer for a large LA company. Before long, he was supervising large condo projects in Century City, and after six years, he had gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge.

In 1983, Ray obtained his C-29 and C-8 contractors license in masonry and concrete. That year, he started Tomlinson Masonry, working mainly in residential construction, building brick, stone, and concrete driveways, pool decks, fireplaces, and stone veneers on houses. Over the last twenty-five years, he has developed strong business relationships with general contractors and homebuilders, and has worked for influential members of the community and celebrities.
