About Us
Rita Gibson Brockway has more than 25 years of experience performing and teaching flute, voice and piano. She is also a licensed Kindermusik educator. Rita earned her Bachelor of Music degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has performed with countless ensembles on stages such as The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. After completing her degree, she managed what is now known as the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras (AYPO) in northern Virginia. Rita then settled in West Virginia, where she raised two wonderful daughters, taught extensive private flute and piano lessons, and developed and led multiple music programs for children. She also performed in Beauty and the Beast and many other musicals with the West Virginia Public Theater. Her students have earned placement in many All State ensembles as well as the Governor’s School for the Arts.
