We are local and family owned. Our family has been in the business in Austin since 1954. We have been at our present location since 1973, we are one of the last original stores in the shopping center.
We have 5 main employees: Gene(dad), Donna(mom), Kyle(son), Blake(grandson) and Rene. We even joke around and say that we adopted Rene. Rene is our lab tech, he cuts and measures the work.

We do majority of the jobs in house. Sometimes the grandkids and my wife, Vanessa, work on the weekends. My son (Bryan) works with us during summertime when he is not away at college. We are known for our customer service and our great frame selection. Gene has over 50 years experience and Rene has 20 years.

Best experience buying glasses I have had in 20 years.  Everything went smoothly and glasses were ready in just over a week.  I need light weight glasses and the store had just what I needed.  Wish I had tried them sooner.

I love this place! The choices of frames are endless, the owners are always friendly and helpful & they make sure you’re completely satisfied. 

Absolutely love this place. Extremely caring and quick to find the best solution. I only had my glasses for a week and I broke them and Kyle was so helpful and totally solved my problem. I'm so happy that I found this place. I will never go anywhere else for glasses. 







I did not appreciate my most recent experience. I recently bought my 3rd pair of glasses ($655) and the guy wouldn’t adjust my previous pair. He told me my head was imperfect and the glasses weren’t crooked. They are crooked. It was the new guy (not the father or his son). I won’t buy anymore glasses from this place. It’s not worth it. 

Immediately realigned stepped on glasses for my wife. Sold us the glasses he wears and sled if we needed to split the hefty bill between 2 credit cards. So nice and so interested in giving us all the information about our choices. I’ve bought glasses in Austin since 1970, Rogers is up there in top 3-other 2 are dead. 

They are awesome and super nice! They fix my glasses for free every time and do the best job!

I'm a multiple repeat customer who has brought several friends and family members in to Gene Rogers Optical to experience extraordinary and friendly service. Gene and his family greet you warmly, invite you in, and the fun begins! 
I have never enjoyed trying on glasses more than in this little.  Even if I'm not in the market for a new pair, it doesn't keep me from trying on frames when I bring in friends or family to help them select a new frame or two.
Gene stocks eye-popping designs from all over the world, made from everything  from wood to metal and everything in between. He's got vintage, true vintage frames from many decades gone by, and the most jaw-dropping selection of Ray Bans I've ever seen. Fun, fun, fun!
You owe it to yourself to go in and treat yourself to the eye candy 😉 and extraordinary service.

i'm 60 years old and been wearing glasses most of my life,I found Gene Rogers optical about 4 years ago. My only regret is that I didn't find them alot sooner,they are the best!!!!!
