Since 2007, we have built a studio focused on the “best of the best”, in contemporary fine art and portraiture. Our interpretation of classical wall portraits produces a traditional, timeless heirloom with a high technology focus. This allows us to create paintings that will last 200 years at a price that is very competitive with painter portrait artists’ work. They are true multi-generational treasures allowing you to choose how you wish to be remembered.

We as humans have wanted to be remembered in future generations for thousands of years. Portraits fill this need with dignified and elegant likenesses. With digital cameras and phones everywhere, people have lost the connection to quality that we provide. Our clients appreciate the education we give them and love the fact that we do the work, up front, at our risk. Only after we complete our portraits to people choose whether to buy them and they also choose the sizes and frames.

We have an amazing way to show our clients their portraits at the end of the portrait session that takes all the guesswork out of the equation and increases the ability to know exactly what will be delivered. KGS Studios is the parent company and KGS Masterpiece Portraits is our family portrait arm. We are building both studios into true destination portrait studios for the USA. Since San Antonio is considered the biggest destination city in Texas, it is a perfect match for people wanting to visit and get a taste of San Antonio hospitality and a world-class portrait experience as well.

KGS Masterpiece Portraits is focused strictly on traditional painted portraits that start with a photographic image. Our staff is dedicated to helping people with family values create an heirloom that future generations will want to receive and cherish.

KGS Studios, on the other hand, has Kevin G Saunders’ Signature Portraits that can be created either in Black and White on Gelatin Silver paper or in color on canvas. Kevin’s Black and White Signature Portraits already have a national following and his dignified and timeless work is continuing to expand.

The studio has recently brought James McKinnis into the fold to feature his impressionistic location portraiture and his unique Hand-Coloring process, creating an amazing color portrait with oils on a black and white canvas print. Unlike his prior work on photographic paper, these current portraits are coated with the same “200 year” UV protection that allows the portrait to be framed without the weight, fragility and reflectiveness of a glass cover.
KGS Studios has two other featured works by Kevin G Saunders, namely, Grand Scale hyper realistic contemporary art in architectural collections and a Fine Art Orchid collection. The showcase of Kevin’s grand scale work is a limited-edition print collection of the San Antonio Missions as they were at the time of induction into UNESCO World Heritage sites. They exist in three editions, with the full-size sets created in a massive scale, up to 35 by 20 feet at full print resolution.

The Fine Art Orchid collection was created by Kevin between 2012-2014 and is another hyper realistic contemporary art body of work. Each image is a composite of up to 100 photographs, painstakingly combined into a single image that shows the orchid in full focus, like a human eye would perceive it.
