I stayed at Zen Den retreat for 5 days and absolutely loved it! Learned a lot, relaxed and recharged in a beautiful environment.

I enjoyed a relaxing retreat that included a cold plunge and restorative sound bed session.  The cold plunge was great- highly recommend it and the immersive sound therapy.

The best thing I've done for myself in years! I was feeling stressed, depressed and had no energy. I found Zen Den by chance-looking for a safe, relaxing environment with some decent amenities. I was not expecting to learn so much-about nutrition, healthy life style changes and yoga, (I had never done yoga-in my 62 years)! Great locations-walk/bike to beach! 2 saltwater pools, hot tubs, great smoothies (I continue to make every day)-excellent massages, 2 kinds of yoga classes per day-and plenty of time to relax, explore and meet and connect with really interesting people-of all ages and all walks of life! I was there for 2 weeks-I left-feeling like a new person!! Energized, refreshed, tan and 5 pounds lighter!!! Goin back-Every Year!!! Thank You Val, Ira- and your great team and guests -that made this such a rewarding and memorable experience!

I recently attended a transformative 3-day yoga retreat at Zen Den Yoga School, led by the incredible instructors Ira and Val. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported on my journey. Both Ira and Val possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise, which they generously shared with us throughout the retreat. 
Their guidance was invaluable, as they patiently answered all our questions and tailored the program to suit each student's needs. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a complete beginner like myself, you'll feel right at home at Zen Den.
One of the highlights of the retreat was the cold-hot-cold plunge therapy, a rejuvenating experience that left me feeling refreshed and energized. Additionally, the morning sunrise meditation on the beach was truly magical, setting the tone for each day with a sense of tranquility and mindfulness.
I also appreciated the tour around the area and the recommendations provided by Ira and Val for local dining and activities. Their genuine passion for yoga and holistic well-being shines through in everything they do.
Overall, my experience at Zen Den Yoga School was nothing short of extraordinary. I left feeling renewed, inspired, and equipped with valuable tools to continue my yoga journey. I highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking to reconnect with themselves and deepen their practice in a supportive and nurturing environment.

I spent three great days at a workshop that was held at the Zen Den retreat center. The atmosphere and quality of the facility were glorious, the comfort indoors and outdoors was satisfying, the kindness of the owners Valerie and Ira was sincere and delightful, and the use of the kitchen for refreshments was easy and generous. The workshop on the Heart Method, taught by Dr. Yaron Seidman, was excellent; and strongly supporting my learning and relaxing was the loving and peaceful energy and amenities of the Zen Den retreat center. It felt like home -- a beautiful and welcoming place!

For me the whole experience was very rejuvenating , exactly what I needed.  I enjoyed the comfortable accommodations, excellent yoga and meditation sessions, I didn't follow their smoothie routine,but customized it for me. Outside yoga den I loved spending time at the beach that was a short distance away from the retreat. 

It was a great experience, the room was great and the house was Confort and full stock of everything. The retreat was just incredible. I definitely will take another retreat in the future. 

Very beautiful in all regards home was ran to perfection by Val. Ira knowledge of yoga is the best. I have been doing yoga for 13 years in several different type studios. I have a wide range of yoga classes and types I have done. Most invigorating fun I’ve had in a long time. Austin puts his heart into his massages. The tarot reading was exceptional and so point on. Just one hell of a trip and vacation. Taking away a few things away from things I have learned.   

My week long stay at Zen Den was educational inspiring, challenging, enlightening and fun!

Valerie and Ira are not just great yoga teachers but more of life coaches, using their vast knowledge to assist every guest/student when and where they  need guidance to improve their physical and mental health to live a more  balanced life.

Starting our day with meditation and yoga, set the stage for an enjoyable and rewarding day. Truly enjoyed all the different styles of yoga and meditation we were introduced to and already started incorporating those in my life.
Also enjoyed the pampering at the spa and the couple of massages I managed to fit in. Don't miss a massage with Austin, he is the best! 
The  private coaching session with Valerie, who  helped me better understand my specific dietary needs, was life changing. 

Zen Den is nested in this residential tropical older quiet neighborhood, while walking distance to many shops and a short drive or long walk to the beach. Which reminds me don't miss the weekly sunrise meditation right on the beach!

After the week was over a felt "lighter", rejuvenated and enthusiastic to follow a healthier and satisfying life path. I truly look forward to going back soon!

I recently attended this retreat and was deeply disappointed with the experience. The owner, Ira, was incredibly unprofessional and rude. At some point he decided he could teach me how to live my life (without me asking for that, I was just sitting outside and working on my laptop), so he decided to give me a lecture, told me that my problem is that I don’t trust him, that I have “low vibrations” and humiliated me by telling me that he was "just way beyond my level of growth." I was shocked and embarrassed, and it completely ruined the experience for me.
Furthermore, the facilities were subpar. The accommodations were substandard. I saw a rat in the pool. The yoga classes were nothing special, the flow they are teaching is the same every class and quite boring.
Moreover, they are promoting and selling illegal substances to their guests.
Overall, I would not recommend this yoga retreat to anyone. The owner's lack of professionalism and poor facilities made for a terrible experience. Ira's attitude was unacceptable, and it showed a complete disregard for the well-being of his guests. I would never attend this retreat again and would advise others to stay away from it.


I had the pleasure of participating in a five day retreat at Zen den yoga, and it was by far one of my all-time favorite vacations.

The space itself is raw. Real. Authentic. Wonderful. There are two pools and two hot tubs with three different homes for guess, all of which are connected. You can tell that the owners, Val and Ira, but a lot of love and energy into creating this beautiful space.

We had two yoga classes, a day and a daily meditation along with activities for each day that we were there. The instructors are inspired you and provided great guidance throughout every flow.

It’s far as location it couldn’t have been better. Within walking distance, there are tons of great restaurants. A little shops. The beach is less than 2 miles away. There’s a paved path from the retreat to the beach which takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk over.  

If you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, and need some time to just to get away without having to worry about anything, that this retreat will be the perfect destination for you.

Second time at Zen Den retreat center and I am looking forward to the next one already. Val and Ira can help you  to find the answers you are looking for. They are well educated about physical and mental health. I’m very grateful for my time at their retreat center. Every time I discovered something new about myself. They gave me a lot of tools and useful information how to take care of myself.

Stayed here for 5 days. They are incredibly welcoming and supportive. Loved the two saltwater pools, the shared kitchens to make smoothies, and the daily yoga and meditation classes. By the end of the week I was more relaxed and healthier than I have been in a long time. Would highly recommend as a place to go to unwind, rejuvenate, reconnect and refresh.

Zen Den is magical.  I don't know how else to describe what happens there.  ZD changed my life, I found health, fitness, friendship and love! What more can anyone ask for? 

The campus is three houses joined by common lawns, a pool and outdoor yoga deck. I did yoga twice a day for two weeks. Walked at least 10K steps a day,  juice fasted, meditated and talked in the hot tub with amazing people from all over the world. 

You know the saying "Wherever you go, There you are"? Well, ZD isn't perfect, but I went there looking for healing & friendship, and I found it... if you're looking for something else, you may find it there too. My point is, when reading reviews, remember they come through the filter of individuals on their unique journey. I LOVED Zen Den... but I went there looking for love with an open heart on how that showed up.

I found Zen Den School from Bookyogaretreat. I am glad that I decided to give it a try with "Disconnect to connect program". I not only had a good experience but also met other like-minded people to share and grow. There was a minor issue happened during our stay but the hosts made great effort to ensure we all happy and comfortable. After the retreat, I feel refreshed and stronger physically and spiritually. Very impressed with  body massage with Austin and happy time at Hydro Sauna room at Maui spa. Recommend !!!

I was looking for a 2 week intense fasting program. After lots of google-ing I choose a 2 week juice fasting at Zen Den Yoga Retreat. It was everything I was looking for and even more as I got to know and really like Yoga (I've given it quite a few tries before) for the first time in my life and I'm sure going to keep on practising it. Val and Ira are both wonderful hosts, full of information when it comes too yoga and healthy living and so willing to share everything with their guests. After those 2 weeks I feel like a new person and I'm definitely going to use what I've learnt there to maintain a healthy lifestyle here at home. Thanks so much for everything Ira, Val, Tiffany and Austin - and of course all the wonderful guests that I got to know. I'll be back!!!



Over the pandemic, I gained weight and lost track of my physical and mental health. After feeling sluggish and tired for months, I realized it was time to hit the reset button and take charge of my well-being. Zen Den Yoga School provided me with the perfect place to reset and recharge. I arrived feeling emotionally and physically depleted, but I could feel myself shine again by the end of the week. The 7-night intensive detox and cleanse retreat was the perfect way to recenter and focus on creating healthier habits. Having very little prior knowledge of Yoga and meditation, I was unsure if this retreat was the right program for me, but the classes were geared toward people of all levels and ages. When not doing Yoga or attending a workshop, I enjoyed riding bikes around the area and lounging around the pool or on the beautiful beaches. I’ve continued to meditate daily since leaving the retreat, which has positively impacted my emotional health. The nutritional coaching provided me with a solid foundation to create new daily habits that will ensure I can continue maintaining my health for years to come. Like most things in life, you will get out what you put into this retreat. If you are self-directed and disciplined, you will have a great experience. Thank you, Zen Den, for a perfect reset!

Don’t go here for a retreat; very much not a retreat, but a school that uses their students to teach. Maybe a decent school. 1 or 2 classes a day and nothing in between. Surroundings are unkept. 

Zen Den Yoga is a school for yoga instructors that are funded by the people like me who stay short periods of time. More appropriately named Drug Den Yoga, there is a constant aroma of weed wherever you go at any time of day. I paid for 3 days $1400+ and received carrots, celery, hemp seeds, apples for smoothies 2x a day. There was no other food - not even herbal teas. The stores are close by and restaurants are available. There are 1 or 2 yoga classes a day (taught mostly by the students) and if you want to sit in on the students' book classes that have nothing to do with the guests "take-home health/tips", you are allowed - if you happen upon the class. There is no real schedule. 5 of us waited on my last day, Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 9 a.m. for the meditation we were told would happen. Even the students were with us. Meditation did not happen at 8 - it was with the Yin yoga class at 9 a.m. Although I was told "coffee has no place at Zen Den" (I brought small bottles of cold brew to put in refridge, apparently weed is completely okay at all hours to be used by the staff. Was anyone one NOT high while teaching us (in defense of some of the instructors I got to know, definitely not all were high). All this to say, because there was nothing to do between 10:30 and 3:30 (except make smoothies) I was able to meet nice friends and we went to the beach.  The pools are kept clean and there is a hidden hot tub that I found. The first impression of the grounds is quite negative and very dirty (very dirty). The house was clean enough. Yes, at $500 a day I was doing my own dishes and others' dishes as well. Probably a decent school (at $100 a day for 28 days). I strongly recommend you DO NOT go here for a retreat. I gave it 2 stars because the smoothie receipes are terrible but probably good for you. The young people I met and bonded with were great. They had bikes, at least, to use without an extra fee.

This was the best retreat from the cozy accommodations to the Zen Den Community being so friendly, caring and personable. I loved the healthy smoothies we learned to make. The yoga and meditation classes were exactly what my body and spirit needed. Of course relaxing outside by the pool and at the beach were blissful. I was truly able to rest and recharge. I had one of the best body treatments ever as well. My experience was by far above and beyond what I had hoped for that I will be back again soon. 

Zen Den is a hidden gem.  I completed a disconnect week and found it a  powerful, meaningful and inspiring week. With a backyard oasis, complete with 2 meticulously maintained pools, a well swept pickleball court, two great hot tubs and also, a super clean studio.  The yoga is insightful, the healthy eating options spectacular and relaxing environment to help EVERYONE grow.

With over 30 years as a yogini and wholistic health professional, I fully enjoyed the 5 day Disconnect to Reconnect Retreat.  I also shared the experience with a "newby" to yoga, I invited my health comrade, and that was especially gratifying to see the excitement about learning yoga and meditation from their fresh perspective.  Yoga to me is so personal, and I enjoyed Zen Den's classes, the smoothies and morning green drink and the learning environment created by the lovely directors Ira and Valerie.  I am feeling the joy, kindness and space created and rippling into my  life.  I am considering returning for the teacher training.  Highly recommend coming to experience Zen Den's retreats and trainings.  You will experience the goodness and how it ripples positively into your own life.

Zen Den Yoga School was a complete transformation I was ready for which I completed on September 19th. I can't thank Val and Ira enough for there knowledge and support in the 2 week detox program and Yoga instruction which I have never experienced before... It was a great challenge and a success I truly have enjoyed. 

I am more aware of my body and choices I make on nutrition. Being prepared and planing a healthy meal is my focus. I lost 16 pounds in all from the month of preparation   Eliminating foods before starting the program from my diet. It is the best and I feel the only way to approach the 2 week fast to insure success. 

This was on my list for a long time. Deep cellular healing is what  I experienced and continue to do so as I continue to learn how natural foods are medicines  and has  become a way of life  supporting my emotional physical and spiritual process!!

It's now  fun experimenting with new foods and being creative in preparing them. My energy level is over the top.  Rose and Restore yoga was enjoyable, a Yin stretch deeply needed.

For me Yoga is more than an excercise. It's about persevearance, and strength. More about non attachments to a goal or outcome. It is challenging, but Yoga provides the tools to meet the challenges, especially when you have short limbs. Ha!

I highly recommend ZenDen Yoga for anyone who wishes to find the light and love within.

I went for the Yin Yoga and restorative Retreat. From the moment I arrived I knew I needed to be there. Val and Ira were so welcoming. All of the other guests were beautiful people. And I am blessed to have met them all. I was at peace there. The experience is very zen and go with the flow. You have a few scheduled things but plenty of you time to do as you please. I loved the Tia Chi and meditation especially. Val made learning it easy. Ira helped me through a panic attack due to recent health reasons. There are really no words, no review I could ever write that would properly describe my spiritual awakening from this retreat. If you want to find yourself, book the retreat. Go with an open mind and heart. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience. Did the 7 day detox, and it jump started my life in a new healthy, life long direction. Val and Ira and the most hands on gurus that really care you have the most of your experience during your stay

Zen Den Yoga Disconnect to Reconnect was an amazing experience for my sister and I.  We spent a nice long weekend doing yoga, meditation, and improving our overall spiritual health.  Each person is there on their own individual journey, and the environment makes it very easy to enjoy the company of other attendees for as much or little as desired.  Valerie and Ira are fantastic hosts and put a lot of attention to detail in the entire experience.  The Yin weekend yoga with Rose was challenging and incredible!  We were able to take daily yoga classes, make delicious/healthy smoothies, and partake in the local Boca community.  Valerie and Ira provided recommendations to wonderful restaurants and local activities that were most appreciated.  To relax the backyard pool and hot tub were readily available.  The beach and downtown area are very close biking, walking, or uber distances.  The massage/spa experience at Maui Spa was an unexpected delight in pampering for sure.  This was walking distance from Zen Den for us.  Although walking back feeling so relaxed took a bit longer!  We also had an opportunity to observe some of their Yoga Instructor trainees in action – those girls worked hard!!  It is obvious they take training their new Yogis very seriously.  Highly recommend!

DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT. Ira & Val both greeted me with such compassion. Namaste. I felt at home immediately with their modest homes, personal touch & tranquil environment. I chose a short visit of 2 nights & 1 Day, not having any experience with yoga It was easy to conform. I took advantage of the Maui Spa package which included a deluge waterfall shower, eucalyptus aroma therapy steam room, 12 Jet Vichy shower, infrared sauna, followed by a healing rejuvenating massage.  Total bliss. I had plenty of time to visit suggested eateries & Visit the Morikami Japanese Garden. A must see. Back at the retreat I participated in sunrise meditation at the beach Tai Chi & Yin yoga with the other guests. I drank their best tasting hydrogen water and green smoothies.  As a special treat on my last evening was spent participating in a Zen Den Cacao Ceremony & Ecstatic dance.  I no longer feel the need to have the tv on 24/7  and have brought a peaceful atmosphere back to my own home.  Highly recommend this place to anyone & look forward to going back again. I joined Zen Den for a 28 day intensive 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. This was hands down one of the most profound experiences I have ever had in my life. This was so much more than a course to learn how to instruct yoga. It’s hard to articulate the words for something so special. At a basic level, we were taught to instruct yoga, nutritional information, energy work techniques and strategies and many more useful educational tools. Taking a more in depth view, we learned so much about ourselves, the people that we were living with and our facilitators. As an educational team Val and Ira are so incredibly well rounded and wise. They, together, bring in every aspect necessary for creating a program that allows each student to learn together, grow together, heal together and become connected as family. Each week of the training was devoted to a direction of the medicine wheel, in which we were blessed to dive into spirit animal knowledge and shamanic breathwork journeys that brought us even closer together and to ourselves. We were given opportunity to partake in plant medicine experiences, bringing us in unison with the Earth and some of its offerings. We celebrated the week closings with ceremony, happiness and connection. The ZenDen facilitates yoga teacher trainings, retreats, detox opportunities and more; which adds so much depth to each individual experience as there is an ever revolving door of people and connection occurring. The facility itself was an escape from the neighborhoods and cities that surround it. Outdoor spaces for practicing yoga and meditation, relaxation, swimming and soaking were beautiful and inticing. Val and Ira have curated a beautiful list of food suggestions around the area that are guaranteed to satisfy and nourish, and the location of the facility puts you near any other establishments you need. Spa, massage, acupuncture and more self care opportunities can be arranged, in facilities that are tried and true, bringing a wonderful addition to your experience. I will be joining this team and space again for more retreats and trainings in my future! I recommend Zen Den to anyone looking to reconnect, recharge and grow. 10/10

I want to thank Valerie and Ira for holding this space for an unforgettable month. Spending the past four weeks here has been more than I ever could have imagined or asked for, and I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity. Each day at Zen Den is a new adventure filled with learning experiences and great energy. Beyond the physical yoga practice, you dive deep into discovering your Self and how that reflects on the world around. It is a beautiful place for people to come together from all over and have a sense of family to learn from & connect with. The things you learn here (whether they be from Val and Ira, other guests, the plants/animals, or yourself) are lessons/habits that will follow you home and have the power to make real change. To be able to learn in such a way that 100% can be absorbed is an uncommon characteristic that creates influential conversations and real teachers. They want to see you succeed and will do whatever they can to help you get there. 

It can be hard to go somewhere alone for days/weeks without knowing anybody, but I can tell you that Zen Den is a total family dynamic. I can’t imagine having felt so at home and so comfortable anywhere else.

It has been over one month since I finished my 300 YTT at Zen Den Yoga School. I purposely waited this long to write a review in order to give myself time to reflect on my experience. I even find it difficult to put into words. My immersion experience with Ira and Val was absolutely incredible. Let me put it this way...I still miss it a month later. The peaceful environment, readings, rich discussions, journaling, healing meditations, breath work and yoga practices made me a more thoughtful and knowledgeable yoga teacher and, perhaps most importantly, gave me much to reflect on as a human being. 

Ira and Val are talented and inspiring educators who are also gracious and kind yet definitely not afraid to truly challenge their students to grow. By the way, they are also funny as hell and a joy to be around.

Ira and Val allowed me to be who I am as a yoga teacher while continually pushing me (in a great way!) to be better which I so wanted and appreciated.  They also provided me with the comfort and trust to cry and laugh when I needed to...truly healing. 

Thank you Ira and Val...you have enriched my life and your teachings will stay with me.

  I am just back from the 1 week juice cleanse retreat at Zen Den Yoga and have only good things to say. I went to break the cycle of unhealthy eating and non exercise during this stressful year of Covid. Zen Den is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, with a pretty and relaxing back yard, pool, hot tub and beautiful outdoor yoga and meditation deck. The yoga instruction is outstanding. Val and Ira really watch your form and give insightful cues, I definitely improved during my week there. I was there during yoga teacher training so had the additional benefit of learning from the training that they received. I was at a lower level than the rest of the class which I was initially worried about, but Val & Ira made me feel comfortable and catered their cues to me at my level. 
 The detox juicing was very detailed and very well thought out. Val teaches you to juice on your own so you can take these skills home with you, unlike places where the juices are made for you. She is a wealth of nutritional information and provides a customized coaching session so that you leave with all the skills you need to integrate a more healthy lifestyle when you return home. 
 One of the things I liked best was the proximity to the beach.  After morning yoga and juice, I packed my lunch juice and went off to the beach for the day.  Walking the beach is an excellent way to get exercise in while juicing. I left Zen Den yoga rejuvenated, with more energy and best of all 5 pounds lighter.  The personalized care here is very different than other yoga and juice retreats I have attended where you are just a number.  Val and Ira are really dedicated to your personal development on all levels. I’m home now and am eating healthier, have more energy and a brighter outlook than 1 week ago.  Thanks Val and Ira!


The friendships I made at Zen Den feel like family, the housing and hospitality feels like home, and the amenities and activities are WELL worth the price of this retreat, no matter which program you choose! (I came for the week-long Disconnect to Reconnect retreat!)
The itinerary is diverse, well-rounded and provides a wonderful environment for personal inner transformation, while still allowing for plenty of freedom to explore the locale on your own time! Everything is very clean, and nestled in a lovely scenic district of Boca Raton, giving the experience of a high-end private retreat, without overwhelming frills or over-crowdedness; PERFECT for those seeking a calm, zen experience!
The retreat includes a daily meal plan with breakfast veggie smoothies, and lunch fruit/berry smoothies (both are delicious and nutritious, in their own way). Just having these smoothies for 2 meals daily, I could feel my system being revitalized, rejuvenated, and cleansed, even after the first day!
During my trip, I opted in for the full Maui Spa experience, and an additional accupuncture package... both experiences were WELL beyond my expectations, and helped me reach my best results in transformative self-care! Talk about some pampering R&R! They have a long-term, close relationship with all providers of their offered add-on amenities, so there's no way you can go wrong with any of them! All of the specialists are very kind, professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating.
Best of all, the owners and instructors of Zen Den Yoga School, Ira and Val, are a WEALTH of widsom, insight, and peace. Like I first mentioned, everyone here felt like FAMILY, and these two were no exception. They are very kind and warm souls, leading by wise example and holding space to encourage our inner lights to shine (plus, they are AMAZING tour guides who know ALL the best local places)! The fire-pit circles were one of my favorite activities, where conversations are thoughtful, genuine, and a safe space for all. Plus, nothing beats outdoor gatherings around a fire on clear Florida nights, especially in beautiful Boca! All around, a perfect retreat, and I would recommend this retreat to anyone gung-ho for yoga and qi-gong retreat!! 
Lastly, I cannot complete this review without mentioning their LOCALLY FAMOUS Volkswagen van (Instagram @angel.namaste), and their oh-so-friendly dog, Gia. On my last day, I gifted them a painting of Gia and the VW Van to thank them for the awesome experience, and as a treat for future guests to enjoy as they Zen in the Den.

WOW!  What an incredible journey on my 5 day disconnect to reconnect!  From making nourishing smoothies, to the peaceful yoga studio, to the comfortable bed, and the amazing teachers, Val and Ira!  Through this journey, I was able to decompress and learn (and relearn) how to create space in my life for self care, space in my heart for extending grace and love to others and myself, space in my lungs and body for invigorating oxygen, space in my life, through the different breathing techniques to reduce my chronic illness symptoms.  And, oh, my…the hydro-therapy and massages were fabulous!  Sunrise meditation on the beach was a dreamy as it sounds.  The yoga practices were both challenging and educational. Val and Ira were amazing hosts, bringing all the guests together as we all walked our own journeys, sometimes in a quiet space, sometimes laughing and sharing stories around the campfire.  The picturesque beach is a short 2 mile run (for me) or an Uber or bike ride away.  I did not do much touring as I wanted to just “be” and spend some time journaling.  A group of us went to a drum circle on the beach one evening.  It was a very cinematic event!  Thank you so much, Val and Ira for such a wonderful retreat!  I am anticipating returning next year and possibly with some friends. This is a retreat that you do not want to miss!

My yin and restorative yoga retreat at Zen Den was a relaxing and a very opening experience. Everyone there is super nice and friendly. It was nice to be around like-minded people and just what I needed. The daily meditations were all different types of meditation which was perfect. I learned a few new guided meditations that I have incorporated into my own practice. I’ve never done yin yoga before and I loved it! It was more of an emotional release journey for me, which was what I needed. I was able to let go of some stuck emotions through the yin yoga practice. I also practiced Hatha yoga while I was there. It was more of an advanced class, which was ideal for me. I liked the challenge of some poses and Ira was there to help adjust people, if needed. In general, it was so refreshing to physically be in a class with other people, not just on a Zoom meeting. 
Val was super helpful and friendly. She had an orientation for anyone who arrived and she went over how everything worked there and told us all about the local restaurants, shops, beaches, ice cream places, and more. She was very enthusiastic about her business and where she lives. I ate at a place she recommended called Living Green, which is within walking distance of Zen Den. Very fresh and tasty food! She also mentioned going downtown to Cielito Artisan Pops for ice cream. A must visit if you like ice cream! I took one of their bikes out a couple times to go to the beach and into downtown Boca Raton. The beach, of course, is amazing, but I love any beach! 
I connected to one of my roommates. We did a lot together while we were there. Again, it was nice to be around a like-minded person. We went to the spa together and got massages and hydro-therapy treatment. After we did that, we found an authentic Italian bakery called Cosa Duci and stopped for lunch. Super tasty pizza and cookies. She and I also biked to the beach together, soaked in the sun, swam, and chatted. It was enjoyable to connect and hang out with someone new.
There are no TVs at the Zen Den and that was also wonderful. I got focus on reading some of the books they had all around the house. I tried to be as technology free as I could be. I did have use my phone to navigate to the different places we went. But that was ok. 
Overall, this was a wonderful and enjoyable experience and just what I needed on an emotional and spiritual level. I would definitely go back for another retreat!

If you’re looking for a complete life changing experience and it’s time to do something for YOU, this is the absolute BEST place to be! Valerie and Ira are the best teachers, very patient with newbies like me! After completely unplugging myself from work (a little withdraw time, being a complete work-a-Holic!) and “life,” l came back with an entirely different perspective and felt inner peace and acceptance of myself. I had to cancel my retreat due to Covid.  I was offered one year to reschedule.  Since I live out of state, and a year later the pandemic is still going on, I asked for a refund instead.  Instead, I was give a three month extension to schedule my retreat AND was told it would incur a change fee of more than $300.   I am out more than $1,000, and have no desire to spend one second in this not-so-zen establishment given the the refusal to refund my fees.

Quarantine has really got to me, I was barely eating and when I did eat I was definitely not putting enough nutrience into my body. I was pretty much on a wine diet. I was gaining weight, I was constantly bloated, my skin was breaking out,my body was in pain, I was tired, my mind was cloudy, my cholesterol was high, my doctor even put me on a bloodpresure mends ( I am 33). I started having crazy panicattacs, I was completely detached from myself. At this point I decided I had to do something and this is when I embarked on zen den yoga school. I reached out to them and Val got back to me right away and I was in. And man did I make the right decision. I ended up signing up for the 8 day liver detox. Val explained the entire process from the get go, there were never surprises I was not aware of. From the time I stepped into the space I felt welcomed and at peace, Val and Ira have created the most serene space ever. The place is very clean and beautiful, perfect place to relax, think, and get your life back. I suggest you set up an energy cleansing with Val is unbelievable I felt 100 pounds lighter after she was done and I am still trying to figure out everything she told me after the cleanse.  The yoga classes were perfect not too fast not too slow exactly what I needed. The meditation was eye opening. The detox was actually pretty easy for me since I followed their directions from the get go, the juices were delicious, I actually started making my own juice at home. Now all the problems I had before were gone, bloodpresure and cholesterol way down, all the pain in my body gone, my skin is radiant with barely any blemishes. I mean what can I say I feel absolutely fantastic physically, mentally, and spiritually. I also made friends for life I will definitely be back, its my second home now! One thing I want to add if you are looking for a retreat where everything is made for you and want someone to constantly tell you what you need to do this is not the place for you. It’s a process and you have to trust it. If you do exactly what Val and Ira tell you, you will see the results. PS. I lost 10 pounds in one week.

Zen Den was just what I needed to reset me before leading my own yoga retreat. It’s a fantastic get away. Book it. You won’t regret it. 

Life changing experience! The couple who own this place are kind, loving and attentive. The yoga classes are top notch, the smoothies are filling and fresh. The place is beautiful, comfortable and clean(the photos on the website don't do it justice). HIGHLY recommend! 

I had such a wonderful time at Zen Den Disconnect to Reconnect Retreat with Ira & Valerie! Both such loving and kind spirits, so glad to have the opportunity to meet them and for having me as a guest! I learned so many new healthy ideas to add to my life! I disconnected & reconnected! The property was so peaceful with that Zen tropical feel! Very nice, clean and comfortable accommodations, full kitchen, a pool, hot tub and gardens & decks to relax & enjoy. Great location too. Minutes to downtown Boca Raton & Del Rey beaches, shops & restaurants! The spa day & the exceptional massage at the Maui Spa included during my stay was a great treat too! I loved the daily smoothie detoxing too, 2x a day! Wonderful meditation classes outside in the morning to start the day, then onto a yoga class in the beautiful studio. Different style yoga classes daily were all exceptional. Vinyasa, Sivananda, Hatha & Charka Flow,, It was great to have 2 yoga classes a day weekdays. I really loved all the classes. Met some great, fun people from all over the US. They all had a great time too. 
Great getaway! I would highly recommend this retreat! I would stay at least 7 days next time & book an appointment with Valerie for Lifestyle & Energy coaching session during my stay! 
After 4:30-5 pm daily, you are free to relax on property or get out into town to make it a great vacation.

Ira and Val are special people and they operate a special place. They operate Zen Den Retreats in Boca Raton with love and compassion for everyone who visits. The time and personal attention they gave me during my visit was amazing. They helped me move my yoga and meditation practices beyond my expectations. Ira and Val also scheduled me amazing treatments from talented healers practicing a variety modalities.. They also provided a list of great food and recreation options. I plan to visit again. 

I recently returned from an amazing 2 week stay at Zen Den where I participated in a 14 day juice detox. It was a wonderful way to give myself a complete reboot...mind, body and soul. It was relaxing, restorative time well spent, an investment in myself that has really paid off!  Val and Ira were tremendously supportive and I learned so much from them about yoga, juicing, healthy eating habits, breathing techniques, and much much more that I've taken home with me... and I have continued my healthy lifestyle journey at home, and I am much lighter than when I came:) In addition, I had the joy of meeting some really nice new people who were very supportive of one another as we all embarked on similar journeys. I highly recommend Zen Den to anyone looking for a beautiful, calming atmosphere where you can really focus on yourself and learn how to live life with "ease, joy and grace" as Val and Ira taught me. The Zen Den “disconnect to reconnect” retreat was a wonderful experience with a lot to offer.  The retreat was exactly what my friend & I needed.
Ira and Val’s teaching styles were unique.  I enjoyed all the classes and definitely walked away with a new perspective in my meditation practice.  I mostly enjoyed the beach meditation and spirit animal meditation.  I also have been continuing with the green smoothie drinks they taught us to make here at home. I look forward to visiting again one day.

I came to Zen Den Yoga school for a 200 hr training and left with lifelong friends and connections. At first the environment was different than I had expected, but after the adjustment period it felt like home. Val and Ira are both so kind and knowledgeable and truly care about each student and guest that comes to learn or stay with them. Val will always lend an ear and her heart to help support you in every way possible. Ira will make you laugh with jokes. It is an intensive program, but it is worth it and if you put in the work you will learn not only about yoga, but about yourself. What I liked best is you begin teaching the first week and continue to build upon this to teaching full classes the last two weeks. Also they added a yin yoga weekend in our graduating class with extra certification hours! It was taught by Ginger and she is highly intelligent in yin and has a huge heart. It was amazing, you will fall in love with yin and restorative yoga.  As for the retreat guests, interacting with them was awesome and hearing stories from people all over the world was heartwarming. If you come to Zen den Yoga school, you might be uncomfortable at first and you might not fully agree with everything you learn, but that is the most amazing part of growing your spiritual practice, it’s yours and you get to share it and heal others.

I came for the 200 hour teacher training, and at first I was a little skeptical but in the end I’m glad I stayed. It was an intense 28 day training and although I was busy pretty much the entire time I was here I made some great memories. The people here will forever be my family and this will be one of my favorite experiences ever. Zen den became my home away from home, and Val and Ira made this so special. They were like a second set of parents. They pushed me farther than I thought I could go and they really taught me not only how to teach yoga but how to be confident in myself and they healed things I didn’t even know were broken. They made me feel whole and happy with who I am, and realize that everything I needed was here the whole time. I would definitely come back for a retreat or another training, and it makes me sad to leave a place as amazing as this. 

Excellent learning institution! These folks really are top of the game and also being in teachers from outside their org who are also highly trained specialists. Great training events!!

Upon arrival at zendenyogaschool I began to notice a shift from within. Ira and Val immediately made you feel as though you were renewing and old friendship. Our daily routine of yoga, meditation, breath work, discussions, meal guidance and harmony from within was life changing. In the short time I spent at zendenyogaschool I soon discovered it wasn't I who had chosen them but the exact opposite. I have truly never had such a profound experience. Thinking I was there to help a friend when in actual fact Ira and Val where there to help me find true clarity of my new path and life changes. I left with new seeds planted and discovered a new journey in yoga and meditation. Choosing this Wonderful Gem in South Florida most definitely was one of the best decisions I've made in life. What an amazing time! I needed a disconnect from everything and that's exactly what I got. I did a disconnect to reconnect retreat for 5 days. I had no expectations and didn't need to have any. There was a wonderful welcoming house Guru Katrina, who gave me such a nice tour which calmed my exciting nerves and answered any questions I had the whole retreat. I met such amazing roommates of all ages, diversity and different backgrounds, who till this day I stay in contact with. I completely made mindfulness a lifestyle and Ira and Val helped confirmed this was the path i wanted to take in my life. 

Between acupuncture, massages, healing therapy, shamanic breath journey, yoga and meditation, I was in complete awe of everything. I went to places I never thought existed, I felt things I never felt before and released a lot that needed to be released. As a first timer of yoga and meditation, their amazing aura made it very easy for me to follow and push myself. 

I loved the freedom of coming and going as pleased, I loved that the beaches were close by, I loved they taught us how to make our green smoothies and made us aware of what to eat and what not to eat, I loved the energy in the houses and loved they had plenty of areas you can journal. I loved everything!!

I want to thank Ira and Val for such an amazing retreat. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, teaching me new routines, and sharing with me such intense amazing energy.

I recently did a 4-day retreat with Zen Den, seeking a yoga and meditation retreat to help my body heal physically, and for some much-needed rest after a lot of chaos and pain in my recent life.
What I got was so much love, understanding, and opportunities to feel and deal with my own trauma alongside others on this strange journey we call life, and of course a lot of yoga and relief from physical pain. The relief was more than noticeable—it was much needed and more than what I thought I could get in only 4 days.
My physical injuries happened over months, and the emotional trauma over years. In late 2018, I divorced my abusive ex, and within a few days of returning home, my mom suddenly passed. After months of stress, moving, emotional pain, and gardening (I now care for my mother's beautiful plants and garden) I had inflammation, tension, and pain in my upper back, shoulders, neck, and jaw. This resulted in frequent migraines. The realities and necessities of life often took priority above my own ability to heal, both physically and emotionally, and I knew I needed to take time solely for myself.
I love yoga and meditation (even new to it, I started a home practice a few months before the retreat) because their core philosophy treats the physical body and mental state as intertwined. Because I had no real "injuries" (nothing that would require surgery, bracing, or medication) I found the flows, meditations, and talks to be wonderful for both. I do think almost everyone can name one physical way their body expresses stress, and how it can become a vicious cycle, and this retreat allowed me to break that cycle.
I found what I needed here, and I would recommend this really to anyone (the yoga is also a surprising workout, they offer both healing and strength building flows, but as always no good yoga instructor encourages you to overexert and hurt yourself) and I certainly would recommend this to anyone needing to heal their mind, body and soul.

I’ve rarely had a more cathartic, peaceful time in my life as the 4 day detox and cleanse retreat at Zen Den Yoga Retreat. It seems time spent there went by in a blink, yet so MUCH happened.  Namaste.

I feel real good.  The candor, openness and catharsis of the retreat allowed me to be more subjectively aware physically and spirituality.  Shamanic Breathing was my favorite experience -- apart from Valerie and Ira's nurturing.  They are really terrific role models.  Namaste. 

What a fabulous place . I just spent a weekend retreat here to recharge and it was more than I ever expected. Zen den understands and masters the art of caring for mind body and soul completely. The teachers are phenomenal. Zen Den is a definite bucket list must ! 

I took the Restorative and Yin workshops here, it was a great experience. The class time was very informative and they really care that you know the information. I also had the opportunity to meet some lovely YTT students during the workshop activities. 

I was there last year for 11 days for a detox wellness program.  Such a great experience and the hosts are fabulous.  I left there a totally different person.  Thanks Val and Ira! So cari g and knowledgable! 

I highly recommend Zen Den Yoga for teacher training. Val and Ira are very knowledgeable and are committed to making sure you have a wonderful experience, as well as a strong knowledge of yoga postures, breath work, nutrition, and lifestyle to take with you when you leave. My yogi "sisters" were amazing women whom I'm certain I'll be in contact with for life. It was also great to meet many of the Zen Den retreat guests who would come and go throughout the month. We often taught yoga classes to them as well! It is an intensive program and lot’s of work, but you are supported throughout to ensure success. I just completed my 200 hr teacher training in August at Zen Den. I am forever grateful to every single person I met during this trip. I made lifelong friendships, and experienced physical, mental, and spiritual shifts in my being. On a physical level, my body became aligned in ways I didn't think possible. I felt safe and guided to complete many physical challenges that I otherwise would not have attempted (such as doing a headstand!) The knowledge of the teachers really shined through in their lessons. On a mental level, I was challenged by thoughts of not being good enough. Perseverance was an important lesson learned. Spiritually, I came to know the aspects of my life I truly valued. Distance from home allowed a new respect for it. Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible!

Zen Den was just what I needed to come home ready and focused on the things that really matter. Health is so important but often ignored. If you need a place to get you on track and help you restart your health journey, then Zen Den is exactly where to go. I did the short detox retreat and I left feeling renewed in spirit and body. My experience at Zen Den Yoga School for my 200hr YTT Feb 2018 was amazing. I feel so lucky to have been able to attend this school. The education was extremely thorough, instructor's expectations high yet very approachable as long as you are willing to do the work and an overall wonderful experience. My goal for my YTT experience was to learn about spiritual growth and inner healing, build a stronger body after recent injuries, gain more mental health and clarity, and come away with enough education and knowledge to be a safe and educational yoga instructor. I feel so lucky and honored to have reached all of my goals with this program! Zen Den is run by 2 wonderful and loving individuals: Val and Ira. Their wealth of knowledge in yoga: spirituality, asanas, teaching all 8 limbs, safe and effective teaching practices, energy healing, effective and safe communication, nutrition and so much more is empowering and humbling at the same time. I would leave 10 stars here if I could!! Zen Den Yoga school is a wonderful, magical place. It's one of those little gems that sometimes you get lucky to find in your life journey, and you just have to open up your heart and receive the love and count your blessings.
I came to Zen Den Yoga school to take the 200YTT and I found a world of opportunities, 6 new yogini friends and 2 amazing mentors. Ira and Valerie are phenomenal people who devote themselves entirely to the development of their students and retreat guests. They both have amazing background and never hesitate to share their wealth of knowledge and experience. The education I received in 4 weeks spans from 5000 years of yoga history to being able to teach a whole 90 minutes yoga class! From wellness, diet and nutrition, to how to launch a business. From learning more about other people from different backgrounds and expectations, to knowing myself better. Overall, it was one of the best learning experience of my life!
The teacher training is an intense 4-week program that requires physical and mental strength. Being able to do it in a safe environment and with a solid curriculum, not only made it easier, it also made it awesome! Tonight is the last of my 28 nights here and while I am happy to go home, I am sad that it’s almost coming to an end! I will miss this place! This school was able to create an amazing support system with proper and easy-to-prepare nutrition, the convenience of living and practicing in the same complex, the accessibility to the teachers for questions, support and help at any time, and, my favorite, the beautiful integration of the retreat guests with the students. While the 6 students of the 200YTT are here for 4 weeks, the retreat guests usually come for 3 to 7 days, so during our stay, there were always new guests and new experiences. And then of course, the support that I received from the other students with whom I shared the house, the room, my life, my joy and my sorrows, was the best and will last forever!

Didnt know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at my stay. Val and Ira are a great and nirturing team. Loved the ability to try new things like Tai chi and energy therapy. It is lpw key but relaxing. Highly reccomend. 

It was an amazing experience!, it was my first retreatment and I felt like I was at home (im from Chile). I even stay 3 extra nights that the ones I booked at first. Ira and Val are amazing teachers, i totally recomended. Also, it was really cool thathas a great location, so at dinners I went out to the restaurants they recomended, my favorites "M&M" and Punjab. 

I feel that im.coming back home recharged and with a better conection with life and universe.

What a great experience. I attended the ytt200 training. Although it consumes you for 30 days the experience was nothing short of empowering. You will leave this training with the confidence and knowledge needed to expand your yoga practice. So much more than just yoga training. With time spent on breath work, meditation, nutrition, and business/marketing. Worth all of the time you have to dedicate! 

This past month at Zen Den Yoga School for YTT 200 has been incredible. This is more than a yoga school, it is a journey and an experience that helps you grow in so many different ways. Ira and Val have created a program that encompasses all of the aspects of the yogi life and make it comfortable to explore your true self. The yoga flows are broken down in a way that really helps you retain the information and understand the reasoning behind the structure of the different flows. You get to explore a variety of meditation techniques, breathing exercises, and the historical information which helps you become a well-rounded teacher. I can't thank them enough for the program they have set up. I met so many fellow teachers that also made an impact on my journey in such a positive way. Living together allowed you to share laughs, hugs, stories, and different ideas, you become a little family. This was such an unforgettable and meaningful experience. Ira and Val also incorporate so many different unique and fun activities throughout the training so you can experience Boca! At Zen Den you will learn, grow, change, and become the best yogi and teacher you can be. Thank you for everything Ira & Val ~Namaste~

I had an absolutely amazing time at Zen Den, and a completely Life changing experience with the Shamanic breath work. Valerie and Ira are so knowledgeable and kind and helpful to the YTT students and to the Retreat guests as well. As a 5 day retreat guest I was able to further my yoga practice and learn so much more about the power of breathing. The bond that I created with every soul at Zen Den is something I will carry with me all my Life. Thank you Zen Den for changing my Life for the better! Peace and Love

A big thank you Valerie and Ira for an amazing week at Zen Den Yoga. It was a week filled with yoga, meditation, green juice, and healing. I will look back on my experience fondly and hope to return soon again. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to renew and relax or deepen their yoga practice. My yoga retreat at Zen Den Yoga was really fabulous and I wholeheartedly recommend it!! I enjoyed every part of it and would love to make it a yearly adventure. Ira is a topnotch teacher- fun and funny! He is extremely experienced and skilled and is both challenging and encouraging. I still think of his helpful instruction during my current yoga practice. Valerie is wonderfully helpful and supportive and sweet. I have had several energy healing sessions in the past here in Michigan, but Valerie is far and away the BEST!! I wish I lived closer, so that I could see her on a regular basis. The shamanic breath work was a powerful experience as was the sunrise meditation at the beach. The yoga students were wonderful and I enjoyed their company very much. My experience would not have been the same without them. If you’re looking for lots of yoga, I’d suggest that you go during the week and not on weekend as there are more classes going on. Lastly, the beach was close by and very beautiful and the daily schedule allowed me to get there every day of my visit. In short, I loved, loved, loved my getaway!

My two sisters and I just came back from a wonderful 3 night retreat at Zen Den. We didn’t have very much experience with yoga but Ira and Val (and all the students and other retreaters) made us feel very comfortable.  
Zen Den is filled with positive energy .
Yoga classes are challenging and Ira is the most amazing teacher.  There are a minimum of 2 classes each day and a morning meditation as well.
We are still in awe of the Wed morning Shamanic breath work journey! Truly special and unique!

Zen Den opened us up to much more than we ever expected.  It was amazing to see the improvement and progression we each experienced. 
Massage and acupuncture are included and were most relaxing and quite a treat. 
The accommodations were comfortable. The 3 of us shared a bedroom that had it’s own bathroom. The kitchen was very nice with updated appliances and granite countertop, etc and the living room was very comfortable and open.   All that was needed for a breakfast and lunch smoothie were provided free of charge.  There  are plenty of great eateries walking distance away; ( and we were able to keep leftovers in the refrigerator). You are on your own for dinner.  

It would have been nice if the accommodations (at least for the retreaters) was a little more upgraded. However, bottom line is that we’d go back in a heart beat and would recommend Zen Den without hesitation.  
We each left feeling lighter both physically and emotionally and grateful to have shared this experience.

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to stay at Zen Den Yoga School - a wonderful place with wonderful people. Ira and Valerie were fantastic hosts, helping me with everything to make my stay special for my personal needs. The yoga and meditation classes were of high quality, very enjoyable and taught to individual levels of the students. I had a fantastic massage and the most relaxing acupuncture at Zen Den Yoga School and loved waking up to harvest some veggies from their organic garden for my smoothie. Valeries diet and nutrition tips were of great value to me. I especially loved that they offered bicycles, so I could easily get around and enjoy the nearby beaches and immerse myself in the magnificent nature and culture of south Florida. I hope I will one day be able to come back to this peaceful, non-judgmental and non-competitive place.

I hope you are all well and having a good time. I just came back from my long fantastic travel. After I left you, I had a great weekend in St Petersburg and Tampa with my friends and then two lovely weeks in Brazil with my family. I am so grateful that I have been able to come and meet you, practice with you and get to know Florida. I loved it! Have a wonderful time! I really hope we will meet again one day.

There is a saying telling that healers don't heal, but they provide the space for others to heal. Well, Ira and Valerie did provide us the space and tools we needed to learn and heal, and I did learn a lot! I did a lot of personal growth during that month, and I don't regret any second of it.

I loved that there were many activities proposed to us, including meditation on the beach, cacao ceremony and shamanic breath work. Even if I am a perfectionist and would have liked to learn more, I know that there is only so much we can do in a month! But I now have all the tools I need (books, friends, teachers, websites, etc.) to keep on learning and practicing by myself. Our teachers also shared their heart and parts of their personal journey with us, and that alone helped me learn so much! I also learned that, even if you are a teacher and have studied a lot and have many certificates and the best intentions in the world, there will always be more to learn. It was beautiful to see people who wanted to learn and grow and wanted to get better and improve themselves even if it wasn't easy sometimes. I could see that our teachers were doing a lot of work to keep the place running, and that also is a good thing to learn when you want to become a yoga teacher and consider opening a studio. It was great to see all the projects they had in mind for their yoga school and it was great to be a part of their journey. 

We had theory and practice every day from Monday to Saturday, and we were grateful for our Sundays off. But even if we were working a lot, we still had time off to get to know each other, go to the restaurant, to the beach, etc. My sore muscles were specially happy about the hot tub and pool! And my soul was very happy with all the friends I made. I love you all, and you are forever in my heart!

Let go all your expectations, accept what you receive, be grateful for what you have, and come back home a different person. Of course there were things I didn't like in the training, but there are always things we don't like because nothing is perfect and we are all different. If you want to know why I gave 4 and not 5, you will have to register to their training! But then again, that's only my point of view... :)

Zen Den Yoga School was an absolutely incredible & eye opening experience for me. The people I met & practiced with/lived with there, are my soul sisters and brothers. We became best friends/family & still keep in touch, visit one another, & encourage each other. I would not be where I am now without Zen Den and the amazing teachers there -Ira & Val. They opened me up to a whole new world. With "Endless possibilities" they were my mentors. When I was in pain and could hardly move my neck (due to health issues), they encouraged me. They believed in me. They pushed me & they also let me Be when needed. Today - 6 months later - I am off of ALL medication. With Fibromyalgia & RA/AS, I am on NO meds after 6 years! I am 11 days sober. The experience was one that helped me on my journey and changed me. The meditation techniques, guidance, green smoothies, shamanic breathing, and yoga have truly molded my revived spirit. I am so thankful to Ira and Val at Zen Den School for their love, mentorship, and hospitality! It is one of a kind & you will not regret it. Open your heart & your mind. I am now a certified yoga teacher after a beautiful month to Boca Raton. The private room along with the house I stayed in tor 26 days was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. I picked the Zen Den for my YTT after putting much thought into the 3 options I had found in the time frame I was hoping to get my RYT200 done and ready to teach by 2017. I flew from Philadelphia down to Florida with so much excitement as I was finally able to start learning what I needed in order to become a yoga teacher. 

Upon arrival, I noticed that the yoga "school" is not what the pictures show on the website or anywhere else, it appears old images are being used to show a studio that I've never seen and unsure when it existed. Their school/studio is inside a home, a home the owners were living in up until our last week down in Florida where they moved outside the yoga house and across street from another house they had us students and retreat guests staying in. 

The address that's listed/posted is not the address for the school. Had I done more extensive research, I would not have chosen this location as there were costs/things that were not explained to us. I paid for breakfast and lunch prior to arriving and learned upon arrival that it was to do their juice plus sales pitch for the wife's business. 

For someone who has "allergies" to foods- they sure don't understand the severity of REAL allergies. I told them prior to booking I am deathly allergic to peanuts and all treenuts and would be traveling with my Epi pen yet when I was having reactions the first few days down there- my health issues were minimized. Due to people traveling from all over and them not being organized- the "brand new" vitamix they purchased (and say they got it for me, sure) after days of me having to take Benadryl was NOT nut free or safe to use as the women in the house were using it because it was new and they liked it- without realizing my health was being put at risk. I paid money as mentioned for breakfast and lunch and only used their organic veggies and fruits to put into the shakes 5 times in total.

If you have any serious allergies- I would not recommend this program. While the wife is a "nutrition coach", I find it super odd that someone in the nutrition field chooses to sell pills instead of having someone actually eat their food to get all the nutrients we need to fuel our bodies. 

As another former student wrote- a lot of the smoothies and "meals" that I paid for prior to arriving (and didn't even use after 3 straight days of bad reactions)- is just a Juice Plus sales pitch. I don't know any doctor or nutritionist in the health field who recommends pills over actual wholesome food. If you think it's no issue- no problem. The fact that they were giving me a product that was manufactured and packaged in a plant with nuts and didn't even check labels or share that information with me shows that you really have to stay on top of your own health and issues or you could end extremely sick, or even worse- dead. 

I am grateful for the amazing women who were a part of my graduating class and I don't regret getting my RYT200 but I think it's safe to say you get what you pay for. When you decide to save money and pick the cheapest option, remind yourself why you want to save money before you sign up for something that isn't what it claims to be.

I find it bizarre and odd that the Yoga Alliance doesn't require the owner of a yoga teacher training school to be a yoga teacher and the fact that this school is on their website, but there is no teacher(s) listed. From what I gather, people can either choose to have their personal profiles visible or hidden. I thought one of my classmates was lying and manipulative about certain aspects of this program and once home I learned that maybe she wasn't so far off. 

Did I express my gratitude to the owners for opening up their home to me and helping support me during times of anxiety or pain? Absolutely. I thanked them many times and meant it but it just felt like this is just a business to them and I didn't sense any genuineness or authenticity from them toward me. If I was more then just business for them- I think they would have made an effort to be a little more compassionate toward some of us whereas you could tell who they liked and who they didn't. 

Rolling your eyes at people who are paying you exactly what you price your certification costs- is beyond unprofessional. To tell me that you don't care if someone comes there and you know they will be a terrible teacher but it doesn't matter because you are still getting paid shows that yoga isn't a passion of theirs. Business clearly is. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a great business but in the yoga world- I would have appreciated having a teacher who actually practiced with us. 

To tell me you have "limitations" from a back injury, I can understand... but I have way more serious health issues then the owner and would be told by said owner that I don't have pain, it's all in my head, pain isn't real, I don't have a brain injury, and so forth. I just wonder how they can say these things when he doesn't even practice because of a "disc" issue in his lumbar spine. This is not a competition but I have 2 herniations in my neck, 3 bulging discs and then 2 more disc protrusions in my lumbar spine. For someone to tell me they have limitations when I began my yoga to HEAL from a tragic accident is mind boggling. I survived a 22 foot fall over 3 years ago and yoga is what helped me heal and I got my RYT200 so I can pass on the beauty of yoga to others. 

I don't let my pain stop me or define me. I let it empower me. I let it motivate me to strive for better. Maybe you should try.

I spent 5 days in the Zen Den Yoga retreat, it was very nice. Valerie and Ira are great hosts, they're very kind and sweet. From the meditations to the yoga practices, tai chi and many more, were great. The massage was amazing and the acupuncture was excellent. Also, all the suggestions for where to go based on restaurants, cafe, riding bicycles to the beach, had all met my expectations. I had the beautiful opportunity of sharing the big event of January 1 of 2017, where more than a thousand yoggis were joined for the same intentions. Thank you for everything.
